The international “Global Joint Conference on Industrial Engineering and Its Application Areas (GJCIE 2019)” organized by the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) in collaboration with the İstanbul Technical University (ITU) will be taking place on the 2nd and 3rd of April 2019 at the Rauf Raif Denktaş Culture and Congress Centre. GJCIE 2019 is composed of three co-located conferences: the 4th Global Conference on Industrial Engineering (GCIE), the 5th Global Conference on Healthcare Systems Engineering and Management (GCHSEM), and the 6th Global Conference on Engineering and Technology Management (GCETM). GJCIE 2019 will be an internationally renowned forum for researchers, practitioners, and educators to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends, experiences and challenges in the field of industrial engineering.
Current Issues Will Be Discussed
The Conference Chair will be ITU Management Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Fethi Çalışır and the Conference Co-Chair will be EMU Department of Industrial Engineering academic staff member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Orhan Korhan. The opening speech will be delivered by EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam and the first presentation will be delivered by Prof. Dr. M. Yaşar Özden from EMU. This year’s theme has been identified as “Industrial Engineering in the Digital Disruption Era”. Therefore this conference will discuss information systems and technological application in detail. It will especially focus on how data will contribute to production in the digital era and the productivity of organizations. As well as leading to the discussion of current issues between academicians and researchers the conference will also provide a basis for future collaborations.

The articles accepted to be presented at GJCIE 2019 will be published by Springer Nature in the book series titled “Lecture Notes in Industrial Engineering and Management”.
