EMU Graduate Becomes Palestine Minister of Communication and Transportation

Thousands of EMU graduates are proving their success with their outstanding achievements throughout the world. Allam Mousa, who graduated from Eastern Mediterranean University Engineering Faculty, Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department as the top scoring student in 1990, has been appointed as the Communication and Transportation Minister in the new Palestinian Government. After completing his undergraduate studies in Eastern Mediterranean University, Mousa pursued his postgraduate and doctoral degree studies also in the same institution. During his master's and doctoral degree studies in EMU, Mousa worked as a research assistant. After the completion of his studies, Mousa undertook numerous important positions in his professional life, and also worked as an academic and Electronic Engineering Department chair in Al-Quds University between 1996 and 2008 and 1999 and 2000, respectively.

After the year 2000, Mousa worked as an academic staff member in Palestine's biggest university An – Najah and between 2002 and 2009, he was appointed as the chair of the Electrical Engineering Department in the same institution.  Mousa also worked as the Quality Assurance Unit Director in the same university and worked as the Vice Rector for Planning, Development and Quality Assurance in An-Najah University after 2009.

Following his academic career full of success, Mousa sworn in as the Communication and Transportation Minister in the new Palestinian National Reconciliation Government at the beginning of June, 2014. Stating his contentment with the quality of education and campus life in EMU during his undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral degree studies, Mousa put forth that numerous EMU graduates are employed as academicians or administrators in various universities or as high level administrators in important Palestinian organisations. Mousa also expressed his pride in successfully representing Eastern Mediterranean University as one of the former graduates.
