EMU Accepting Applications for Postgraduate and Doctoral Degree Programs

The Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) is offering a total of 79 Council of Higher Education (YÖK) and Higher Education Planning, Evaluation, Accreditation and Coordination Council (YÖDAK) accredited graduate programs including 19 PhD programs, 33 Master’s programs with a thesis and 27 Master’s programs without a thesis in the Fall Term of the 2016-2017 Academic Year. According to the statement released by the EMU Institute for Graduate Studies and Research, students should complete their registration by the 15th of September 2016 via the website http://www.emu.edu.tr/applyonline

It was emphasized that candidates applying for a Master’s degree should have an undergraduate degree and those applying for PhD programs should have a master’s degree. Those applying for English-medium programs may obtain detailed information about the English Proficiency requirements at http://grad.emu.edu.tr. Candidates who do not possess a document certifying their English level are expected to take an English Proficiency Test administered by EMU. Depending on their exam results, students may attend an intensive English program or take extra English courses alongside their postgraduate course.

Two New Master’s Programs

The Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) will be accepting students for two new postgraduate programs in the Fall Term of the 2016-2017 Academic Year. The Faculty of Tourism has made available a Tourism Management Master’s Program (Turkish) without a thesis. In addition, the fırst Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation PhD program in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus will also be available at the Faculty of Health Sciences.

Faculty of Engineering:

Electrical and Electronic Engineering PhD and Master’s with a thesis; Civil Engineering PhD and Master’s with a thesis; Mechanical Engineering PhD and Master’s with a thesis; Computer Engineering PhD and Master’s with-without a thesis; Industrial Engineering PhD and Master’s with or without a thesis; Engineering Management Master’s without a thesis.

Programs Delivered in Nicosia

Some of the postgraduate programs offered by Faculty of Business and Economics will be offered in Nicosia to provide an alternative for nationals of the TRNC who wish to pursue their postgraduate studies alongside their careers. In this respect, the Turkish language graduate courses will take place in Nicosia. TRNC nationals working in state departments will also be offered a 20% discount in their tuition fees.

EMU-WARWICK University Collaboration

Since 2011, Eastern Mediterranean University has been an official overseas center for the University of Warwick WMG MSc programs in Engineering Business Management and Supply Chain and Logistics Management.This intensive one year master’s program is entirely delivered on EMU campus and comprises nine modules and a thesis. Students benefit from the expertise and experience of visiting lecturers from the UK, and have the option to take two of their modules at Warwick’s UK campus. The diploma received by students upon completion of the course is identical to the diploma received by students who study in the UK campus of the university.
