EMU Academic Staff Member Becomes an Associate Editor in Transactions on Industrial Informatics Journal

Eastern Mediterranean University Engineering Faculty, Computer Engineering Department academic staff member Prof. Dr. Hasan Kömürcügil has been appointed as the Associate Editor in the USA based "Transactions on Industrial Informatics" journal of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the worlds largest association for the advancement of technology. With over 400,000 members in 150 countries, IEEE is one of the most respected authorities in numerous technical areas such as computer engineering, biomedical technology, electrical power, telecommunication, space electronics and consumer electronics.

"Transactions on Industrial Informatics" Journal is indexed in SCI (Science Citation Index) and is the journal with the highest impact factor among all journals produced by the IEEE. Journals covered by SCI have scientific value and those published in the aforesaid index are scientifically considered valid. A journal's impact factor is an indicator for its quality.

Prof. Dr. Kömürcügil stated that the impact factor of "Transactions on Industrial Informatics" Journal is 8.78 and expressed his happiness in undertaking such an important responsibility. Prof. Dr. Kömürcügil believes that his new appointment will contribute to the promotion of both EMU and the TRNC within the academic world.
