With the contributions of the EMU Personnel Office Directorate, Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Rector’s Office organized a Honouring Ceremony on Tuesday, 29th June 2021 at 18:30 at the Rector’s Office Poolside. Academic and administrative staff members who have completed their 25th year of service, retiring staff members and staff members who have decided to leave the office were presented plaque during the event. Along with the afore-menioned staff members, EMU Board of Trustees President Dr. Erdal Özcenk, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın, Board of Trustees Member Ersun Kutup, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Hasan Demirel, Vice Rector for Student Affairs Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Aktuğlu, Vice Rector for Social and Cultural Affairs Assoc. Prof. Dr. Deniz İşçioğlu and Vice Rector for Administrative and Technical Affairs Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serhan Şensoy attended the ceremony.
“I Sincerely Thank to All Our Personnel”
The opening speech of the ceremony was delivered by EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın. Stating that the university organized the ceremony to give a plaque of appreciation to the staff who have rendered important services to EMU and who have been working for more than 25 years, and to the staff who have taken the university forward with their efforts and retired from the university, Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın said, “I sincerely thank all our staff who have served EMU. EMU is an important institution in the field of higher education with its institutional structure and studies. It is also our home where we spend most of our lives. I wish success to our retired staff in their future lives. I would like to thank our staff who have been working for more than 25 years for their high motivation and services they have provided so far.”
EMU Board of Trustees’ President Dr. Erdal Özcenk also made a speech and stated that; he had also completed 25 years in his professional life and received a plaque, and that he was retired, adding that he knew how the participants felt. Expressing that one realizes how quickly time passes after retiring, Dr. Özcenk stated that 28 years, unfortunately, passed very quickly since he took office in 1989, and wished success and happiness to EMU personnel who have completed 25 years in their profession and continue to work or retire.
Following the opening speeches, EMU Board of Trustee’s President Dr. Erdal Özcenk, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın, Board of Trustee’s Member and Vice Rectors presented honorary plaques to the EMU personnel.
